Sr. Dir, Digital Transformation & Product Dev Convention

Dynamic opportunity for a proven business and technology visionary, to lead the digital transformation of the NRA Show, New England Foodshow (NEFS) and other events.


As the digital subject matter expert and ringmaster of this evolution, you’ll apply your deep background in creating and deploying technology and marketing solutions, to elevate the power, potential, insight and outcomes from our tradeshows and events.


Collaborating with key internal and external partners, you’ll define and drive the vision for a holistic Convention business technology strategy.  Ideal candidates bring an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, proven experience as a leader in digital product management, plus strong business acumen and understanding of cutting edge technology. 

  • Work through EVP, Convention & Strategic Alliances to determine digital  strategic direction of the events business and oversee its deployment
  • Develop a strategy to improve the navigation, intentionality of connections, and quality of audience interactions using current and emerging  technologies to increase the performance of the NRA Show, specifically to increase revenue as well as audience and exhibitor growth; Implementation of best practices at NEFS and other NRA Events
  • Lead the strategy, design and implementation of a new data-driven event platform that captures, analyzes, and applies information to improve the audience experience, the commercial outcomes for business partners and increase the Show ROI for the NRA
  • Optimize the value of current technologies, specifically the Show app, existing CRM’s, data sets and new event technologies to achieve greater value for our customers and the business
  • Continuously evaluate current and emerging technologies and marketing channels
  • Review and integrate internal and external technology vendors
  • Serve as a strategic technology partner between the Convention leadership team and the NRA executive team, specifically the NRA Technology team
  • Well versed and able to work within business intelligence and data analytics platforms
  • As content expands beyond the human to human (live) experiences, transformation lead must be able to develop strategies to convene through digital events, simulcasts, recorded content, social media, etc.
  • Serve as the creator and accountability of the P&L that supports the vision and strategy of the new Show platform
  • Build the business case and a team of partners to provide the solutions required to deliver on the new vision of a digitally enhanced live experience platform
  • Support day-to-day digital needs and lead issue investigation and resolution
  • Lead all aspects of product development, including digital product vision, defining key performance indicators/outcomes, customer research, backlog management, requirements documentation, specifications, and product documentation
  • Work on special projects and other duties as required helping to promote Association success


  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years customer experience design and business management
  • 5+ years of digital product development management experience, including digital marketing, communications, product launches and business analysis
  • Digital agency, consulting or entrepreneurial background
  • Solid digital product management experience with multi-platform projects from research through execution
  • Experience analyzing data and turning the learnings into actionable insights
  • Experience evaluating and interfacing with vendors and cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to work through complex concepts/data and present well thought-out, simple solutions
  • Proven business acumen and ability to define/communicate quantifiable business outcomes
  • Demonstrated thoroughness, follow-up and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Professional with high degree of character, confidentiality and integrity
  • Self-motivated; takes initiative and looks for opportunities to add value
  • Brings high level of energy and creative thinking to all projects – not afraid to take risks

  • Keen interest in following trends and emerging technologies
  • Travel required
