    Overtime rule: What you need to know now

    A federal district court in November 2016 put the Department of Labor's planned revisions to the federal overtime rule on temporary hold until it can rule on several legal challenges to the regulation. Court action is not likely until early 2017. The DOL's regulation had been set to take effect Dec. 1, 2016, and would have more than doubled the annual salary threshhold for exempt employees to $47,476.
