Five National Restaurant Association members were named to Fortune Magazine's list of "100 Best Companies to Work For" for the third year in a row.
The companies are Darden Restaurants, American Express, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Marriott International and Starbucks Coffee.
The magazine determined its list by conducting a broad, random survey of employees. The survey sought employees' attitudes about their company's management, their job satisfaction and camaraderie. The magazine surveyed employees who worked at companies at least five years old with at least 1,000 U.S. employees.
The NRA congratulates its members named to the list for their comittment to being part of the "industry of opportunity" for business, jobs, and careers. Companies such as Darden, American Express, Kimpton, Marriott and Starbucks that create sound, profitable, employee-supportive workplaces are good for the entire industry.
Fortune's acknowledgments of the restaurant and food service industry as "best companies to work for" gives further validation that foodservice careers can be satisfying, creative and forward-focused.
