A happy birthday Twitter chat!

Join the National Restaurant Association’s July 28 Twitter party celebrating the Kids LiveWell program’s 4th birthday.

The party will be held from 1-3 p.m. ET and feature games, a sweepstakes, prize giveaways and chef Q & As on child nutrition and how to get kids to eat more healthfully when they dine out. Applebee’s Jessica James, Corner Bakery’s Ric Scicchitano and Schlotzsky’s Maira Morales will all take part in the chefs’ Q&A session.

To participate, follow Kids LiveWell on Twitter and use the hashtag #4YrsofKidsLiveWell.

Launched in 2011, Kids LiveWell focuses on providing healthful menu choices for children that have increased servings of fruits and vegetables, lean protein, whole grains and low-fat dairy, and limit unhealthful fats, sugar and sodium.

“In just four years the restaurant industry – through our Kids LiveWell program ‑ has introduced hundreds of new, nutritious kids’ meals and side items that are both healthful and great-tasting,” said Joan McGlockton, the NRA’s vice president of industry relations and food policy. “We’re very pleased with the strides restaurateurs and our program are making to provide children and their parents with healthful options they like and want to eat.”

More than 155 restaurant brands representing over 42,000 locations around the country now participate in the program.
