Coca-Cola’s Curtis to receive hospitality award

In recognition of his service and commitment to the industry, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation will present Carlton Curtis with this year’s Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award.

Curtis, Coca-Cola’s vice president of industry relations, will be honored April 14 at an awards gala during the NRA Public Affairs conference in Washington, D.C. He will be recognized for his achievements and leadership in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

“It’s a privilege to recognize Carlton and his lifetime of achievements,” said Rob Gifford, executive vice president, strategic operations and philanthropy, NRA and NRAEF. “During his tenure with Coca-Cola and as a member of the NRA and NRAEF boards, Carlton has been steadfastly passionate and committed to improving the industry. He is a tremendous advocate and an exemplary role model for the restaurant and foodservice sector.”

Long-time supporters of the NRAEF’s ProStart program, Curtis and Coca-Cola have helped raise nearly $8 million to benefit it and the foundation over the past 10 years.

“We have been proud to partner with and support the NRAEF and specifically, the ProStart program,” Curtis said. “It is critically important to inspire, educate and advance the next generation of restaurant and foodservice leaders.”

A former chairman of the NRAEF board, Curtis boasts a four-decade career at Coca-Cola. He also serves on the International Franchise Association’s board of directors and as chairman of its Diversity Institute.
