Industry’s best to receive Gold & Silver Plates, Legends Award

The biggest names in foodservice are getting ready to honor the industry’s very best at the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association’s 64th annual Gold & Silver Plate Awards.

The celebration will take place May 19 at the Marriott Marquis Chicago, during the 2018 National Restaurant Association Show.

During the gala, the National Restaurant Association will present its 2nd Annual Legends Award, which is part of our collaboration with IFMA. It recognizes the contributions of a distinguished individual from the restaurant and hospitality industry. Dawn Sweeney, our president and CEO, will present the award.

The prestigious Gold & Silver Plates recognize the contributions of our nation’s top foodservice operators and the work they’ve done to advance business. One of the Silver Plate winners will receive the Gold Plate award at the end of the evening. An independent committee votes for the award by secret ballot.

“Every year, for 64 years now, the winners demonstrate excellence that makes us proud to be part of this industry,” said Larry Oberkfell, IFMA’s president and CEO.

This year’s Silver Plate winners are:

  • Independent Restaurants/Multi-Concept: Craig Huse, Huse Culinary, Bloomington, Ind.

  • Chain Full Service: Gene Lee, Darden Restaurants, Orlando, Fla.

  • Chain Limited Service: Paul Brown, Inspire Brands, Atlanta
