NRA honors military foodservice excellence

The National Restaurant Association Military Foundation recognized nearly 100 service members for excellence in foodservice at an awards gala during NRA Show 2015 in Chicago.

Members of the U.S. Army, Air Force, Air National Guard, Marine Corps, Military SeaLift Command and the Navy received Armed Forces Foodservice Awards at the event.

“These awards are a way of honoring our active duty military foodservice professionals for their exceptional work, and to offer them additional training that will help them in their current roles as well as their future foodservice careers,” said NRA President and CEO Dawn Sweeney. “We are proud of these men and women and their extraordinary contributions to the military through their work in foodservice.”

As part of the awards program, which started in 1957, more than 100 service members will participate in a three-day training regimen later this month that includes education sessions on emerging issues in foodservice, interactive culinary demonstrations and discussions with industry leaders.
