NRA preps for 2014 executive study group meetings

As the new year approaches, the National Restaurant Association is gearing up for its 2014 winter/spring slate of executive study group meetings.

The meetings, to be held starting in February, will offer restaurant industry professionals the opportunity to share their expertise, best practices, trends and vital information as well as network and increase their professional development.

Upcoming NRA meetings include:

  • HR and Risk Managers: Feb. 26-28, San Diego. The meeting will address the health care law, dispute resolution and drug testing, among other topics.
  • Nutrition: March 11-12, Atlanta. Attendees will learn about hot topics and trends in nutrition, including emerging nutrition regulations affecting restaurants. The group will visit the facilities of a health and wellness leader in the restaurant industry.
  • Internal Audit: March 26-28, Austin. The group will tackle such issues as enterprise risk-management, brand protection, audit administration and cloud computing.
  • Spring Marketing Executives Group: May 15-16, Chicago. This meeting will focus on raising the level of excellence in restaurant marketing. Participants will explore the ideas and tactics being deployed now as well as the big ideas that are just ahead.
  • Spring Supply Chain Management: May 15-16, Chicago. Supply chain management is a critical part of a restaurant company’s success. This group will examine the emerging trends and issues affecting restaurants, their suppliers and the food that is served to their guests.
  • Tax & Finance: June 25-28, Philadelphia. This meeting will help financial officers and tax executives stay current on the latest developments in tip reporting, tax laws and other areas of tax compliance.
