One more reason to come to the NRA’s Public Affairs Conference

Another major name has been added to the list of speakers for the National Restaurant Association Public Affairs Conference.

Ann Compton, who covered the White House for ABC news for more than 40 years, will help kick off the conference on April 14 in Washington, D.C. Compton, who was the first woman assigned to cover the White House full time by a major network, will share her perspective on current events and take questions from attendees.

She joins a speaker lineup that includes Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Maria Contreras-Sweet, administrator of the Small Business Administration and a member of President Obama’s cabinet.

Compton’s career spanned seven presidencies and put her on the front lines of major historical events, including the September 11 attacks and the fall of the Soviet Union. Her work has earned her numerous honors, including inductions into the Museum of Broadcasting Radio Hall of Fame and the Society of Professional Journalists Hall of Fame.

There’s still time to register for the Public Affairs Conference, the most important week for restaurant operators to have their voices heard by the nation’s lawmakers. More than 700 industry professionals attended last year to meet with members of Congress and educate them about how public policy issues like health care, wage and labor laws and taxes impact restaurants.

It’s not too late! Register for the Public Affairs Conference, April 14-15 in Washington, D.C.
