Practice responsible food safety skills

The National Restaurant Association is offering new tips and tools for National Food Safety Month in September.

The NRA uses National Food Safety Month to help educate restaurant operators and employees about proper food safety techniques. We'll highlight storage, thawing and holding, preparation and service this month and offer free resources for professionals to use at their own operations.

This year’s theme focuses on the flow of food through a restaurant. Training tools and resources will consist of activities, posters, infographics and videos.

“With our industry serving 130 million meals daily, food safety is always a top priority for the country’s 1 million restaurants and foodservice establishments,” said Phil Kafarakis, the NRA’s chief innovation and member advancement officer. “Every September, we look forward to sharing a variety of new resources that contain vital food-safety tips and best practices.”

For the fifth year in a row, SCA, manufacturer of Tork away-from-home professional hygiene products, will sponsor National Food Safety Month.
