ServSafe session, certification available at Food Safety Summit

The National Restaurant Association is holding a one-day training session for its ServSafe Manager program during this year’s Food Safety Summit in Baltimore.

Kevin Scott, a ServSafe certified instructor/proctor and ServSafe National Accounts manager, will lead the session, which will cater to first-time students with pre-study experience as well as experienced managers aiming for recertification. It will be held April 8 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and will focus on requirements related to the Food and Drug Administration’s latest Food Code, food-safety research and food sanitation techniques.

“Executing the proper food safety techniques in your restaurant’s kitchen is extremely important to both the health of your customers and your business,” he said, “We are pleased to hold this session to help new and returning managers get the instruction needed to obtain their ServSafe certification.”

The Food Safety Summit will be held April 8 to 10 at the Baltimore, Md., Convention Center. The annual conference offers solutions-based information and tips and tools for the food industry.
