National Restaurant Association’s Conserve Program Announces New Sponsor Excel Dryer Collaboration to highlight energy efficiency resources

(Washington, D.C.) Today, the National Restaurant Association’s Conserve sustainability program announced Excel Dryer, Inc., manufacturer of American made hand dryers featuring the original, patented, high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR® hand dryer, as a program sponsor.

“Through our Conserve Program, the National Restaurant Association provides tips and tools for restaurant operators looking to maximize their sustainability efforts in their everyday operations,” said Jeff Clark, Conserve Program Director. “By utilizing energy-efficient resources, such as XLERATOR hand dryers, restaurants can reduce their energy use, impacting not only the environment, but also their bottom line.”

Clark noted that one restaurateur saved nearly $1,000 per month when she began utilizing hand dryers in her two locations.

Environmental sustainability ranked third among 20 top trends at restaurants in both 2014 and 2015, according to the National Restaurant Association’s annual “What’s Hot” culinary forecast. Chefs and restaurateurs recognize more customers are incorporating sustainability practices into their daily lives and want to extend that into the food space as well — particularly when dining out.

Additional research shows restrooms can influence how likely guests are to return. A survey conducted by Cintas Corporation found that 88 percent of respondents identified overflowing trashcans as a sign of a dirty restroom. Eighty percent of those surveyed said paper towels and toilet paper on the floor was another sign. By adopting touch-free, high-efficiency fixtures such as the high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryer manufactured by Excel Dryer, facilities eliminate paper tower labor, maintenance and waste and improve restroom cleanliness.

“The XLERATOR hand dryer allows facilities to eliminate paper towel waste, creating a more hygienic restroom environment,” said William Gagnon, vice president of marketing at Excel Dryer. “As all facilities are now looking for green and cost-saving initiatives, the installation of the XLERATOR hand dryer accomplishes both.”

The new XLERATOReco hand dryer uses “no heat” technology to dry hands fast using only 500 watts, making it the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly hand dryer on the planet. XLERATOR hand dryers represent a 95 percent cost savings versus paper towels and eliminate their labor, maintenance and waste, while creating a more hygienic restroom environment.
