ABOUT THE EVENT

The 2016 Richard E. Marriott Golf Invitational is being held Oct. 4 – Oct. 6 at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C. A world-class facility, Pinehurst has a reverence for the game of golf that lives in the traditions, championships, and legends that have made it one of the most storied golf resorts in the world and a must-play for all golfers. This is your chance to play on the famous Pinehurst No. 2, host of the 2014 U.S. Open, as well as other top-rated courses, all while supporting the important work of the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Advocacy Fund.

The invitational is one of the restaurant industry’s most important and premier events. Individuals enjoy three days of world-class golf, two nights of hotel accommodations at Pinehurst Resort, networking events and meals with CEOs and senior-level executives from some of the most respected and successful multi-unit chain and independent restaurant companies in our industry.

Courses

  • Pinehurst No. 2: Pinehurst No. 2 is the centerpiece of Pinehurst Resort and remains one of the world’s most celebrated golf courses. It has served as the site of more single golf championships than any course in America and, in 2014, hosted 14 days of championship play with back to back U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships for the first time in their history. No. 2 is best known for its crowned, undulating greens, which are some of the most complex and widely hailed in the world.

  • Pinehurst No. 4: Pinehurst No. 4 combines the classical routing of Donald Ross with the contemporary vision of Tom Fazio, who re-imagined the course in 2000. Fazio, who considered No. 4 his tribute to Pinehurst, tipped his hat to Ross with crowned greens on many holes, and the addition of more than 140 pot bunkers. These, combined with several sprawling waste bunkers and more traditional sand traps, give the track a dizzying 188 sand hazards.

  • Pinehurst No. 9: Pinehurst No. 9 is the newest course at Pinehurst Resort and is their only Jack Nicklaus-designed course. It is a masterpiece set amidst the long leaf pines. The 18-hole championship layout features classic Nicklaus architecture: wide fairways, lush course conditions and undulating putting surfaces that test your mind and your true golfing ability. Pinehurst No. 9 is a magnificent 7,122-yard course and is as meticulously designed as it is compelling. An intriguingly well-balanced course which, according to Golf Digest, "has come to enhance even the lofty Sandhills image for worldclass golf amenities."
