Richard E. Marriott Golf Invitational - About

About the Event
The 2014 Richard E. Marriott Golf Invitational is being held on October 21-23 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Home of THE PLAYERS Championship, TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach is among the most famous golf courses. THE PLAYERS Stadium Course sports one of the most recognizable and challenging holes on the PGA TOUR. The notorious par-3, 17th hole, features an island green that makes or breaks many PGA TOUR rounds. Play some of the country’s most recognized courses, while supporting the important work of the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Advocacy Fund.

The Richard E. Marriott Golf Invitational is one of the restaurant industry’s most important and premier events. Individuals who attend will enjoy three days of world class golf, two nights of hotel accommodations at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, networking events and meals with CEO’s and Senior-level executives from some of the most respected and successful multi-unit chain and independent restaurant companies in our industry.

The Players Stadium Course
From the initial idea by former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane R. Beman, the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass was built in 1982 to host THE PLAYERS Championship and be the permanent Home of THE PLAYERS Championship. Working with renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, Commissioner Deane Beman created a course design that favored no particular player or style of play. The result is a truly balanced course. Players find a selection of short, medium and long holes within the categories of par-3s, par-4s and par-5s; both right and left doglegs; and a course rout- ing laid out so no two consecutive holes ever play in the same direction. With its signature island green on the par-3, 17th hole being one of the most recognized in golf, this legendary track has captured the imagination of golf fans all over the world and is consistently named among the top golf courses worldwide.

Dye's Valley Course
Designed by Pete Dye, Bobby Weed and player consultant Jerry Pate, Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass is the sister track to the world-famous THE PLAYERS Stadium Course. Boasting perfectly manicured surfaces and water on every hole, Dye’s Valley was ranked No. 24 in Golfweek’s 2011 rankings of “Best Courses You Can Play” in Florida. With the same standards of excellence found on THE PLAYERS Stadium, but a quieter, unassuming feel, Dye’s Valley Course rounds out a complete experience at TPC Sawgrass. Many players welcome the “respite” of this golf course after a round on THE PLAYERS Stadium, which was built to test the fortitude of PGA TOUR professionals.
