The Garden of Hope and Courage, a 2.5-acre healing sanctuary in downtown, Naples, Fla., is home to a special memorial for Jan Emfield, a close friend of D’Amico CEO and President Richard D’Amico. Emfield died from breast cancer in 1994, but her legacy lives on in the garden, which has been a source of pride for D’Amico & Partners since 1994. The company began raising money for the garden through various wine dinners and golf tournaments in 1994. One of the company’s restaurants, Campiello in Naples, has been hosting the annual Campiello Invitational golf tournament for 10 years, with all proceeds directly supporting the garden. On average, the golf tournament nets between $25,000 and $30,000 every year. In addition, the restaurant’s VIP dinner for the Naples Music Festival raised $66,000 for the garden. The company’s goal is to raise $2.5 million for the project. The Garden of Hope offers hospital patients, visitors and staff a place to escape and enjoy emotional healing.
