Common Cup Coffeehouse

The Common Cup Coffeehouse brings a decidedly common touch to its charitable giving: a jar in the restaurant encourages customers to donate to a different organization each month. The Coffeehouse’s patrons help find local, national and international charities to feature. The Common Cup then pitches in $50 in addition to customer collections in the jar. Through its charity jar collections, Common Cup has donated more than $1,000 to Habitat for Humanity, more than $800 to Heifer International and more than $500 to the community’s local food bank. Common Cup has a unique mission itself. A joint effort of the Faith and First Lutheran Churches of Morris and Lutheran Campus Ministry, all profits of the coffeehouse go toward local and international charity work. Since its inception, the Common Cup has donated about $10,000 to charities such as the Dove of Peace Mission Center, the Stand with Africa program and the Stevens County Human Services Youth Activity Fund.
