Big Boy Restaurants International logo Big Boy Restaurants International
Warren, MI

For 31 years, Big Boy Restaurants has been a leader in Operation Can-Do during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season. The restaurant group wanted to create a long-term hunger relief program that would become a tradition during the holiday season in southeastern Michigan. Big Boy forged a partnership with a local television station in Detroit, area Boy Scout groups and food banks. The groups promote the food drive and generate donations to feed the hungry and those in need during the holiday season. Each Big Boy Restaurant serves as a drop-off and collection point for canned and dry goods, which are delivered to various food banks and shelters. In 2007, Big Boy Restaurants collected and delivered more than 25 tons of food.
