With the simple goal of “doing more good things for more people,” BJ’s Restaurants built a unique program to provide corporate structure and leadership opportunities for the company’s eager community of volunteers. BJ’s launched its TASC Force (Team Action to Support Communities) in early 2008 with 11 coordinators who work with the BJ’s Foundation office to find local volunteer opportunities. Community outreach events in BJ’s nearly 70 locations have included beach and community clean-ups, Flags4Heroes on Memorial Day, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and more. BJ’s volunteer efforts are often supported with food donations from all of its locations and a check from the BJ’s Foundation in support of a specific program or event. This year to date, BJ’s has donated nearly $15,000 in food and money to various nonprofits.
