Restaurateurs ask Congress to repeal new paperwork mandate

Restaurateurs are petitioning Congress to repeal a new mandate that greatly expands the volume of 1099 tax forms businesses need to file each year with outside vendors and the Internal Revenue Service. "For a small, fast-casual restaurant like ours, this is a significant increase in recordkeeping," says NRA member Charlie Feehan, owner/operator of Shane's Rib Shack in Alpharetta, Ga.

Feehan is one of hundreds of NRA members who wrote to their lawmakers in response to a National Restaurant Association action alert urging Congress to repeal the new mandate. The mandate takes effect in 2012, but bills are pending in Congress to withdraw or modify it. Write your letter to Congress today
