	  <description><![CDATA[(Chicago) Restaurants use online and email marketing to provide consumers the personalized offers they prefer, according to new research by the <a href='http://www.restaurant.org/onlinemarketing'>National Restaurant Association </a>released today. The research found that electronic marketing channels complement traditional and offline channels as part of a successful marketing mix. Funded by an unrestricted research grant by <a href='http://www.livingsocial.com'>LivingSocial</a>, the study analyzed current marketing practices employed by restaurant operators and consumer perceptions of a range of marketing tools.

	  <description><![CDATA[(Chicago)  -  The National Restaurant Association today is announcing that the number of restaurant companies participating in its groundbreaking <a href='http://www.restaurant.org/foodhealthyliving/kidslivewell/index.cfm'>Kids LiveWell</a> program has more than quadrupled since the initiative's launch last July. With the addition of new participants Applebee's and Chick-fil-A, the initiative has grown to 96 restaurant brands representing more than 25,000 locations nationwide.

      <title><![CDATA[Restaurant Performance Index Closes Out Q1 at Post-Recession High]]></title>

	  <description><![CDATA[(Washington, D.C.)  Driven by solid same-store sales and traffic results and an increasingly bullish outlook among restaurant operators, the National Restaurant Association's Restaurant Performance Index (RPI) matched its post-recession high in March.  The RPI  -  a monthly composite index that tracks the health of and outlook for the U.S. restaurant industry  -  stood at 102.2 in March, up 0.3 percent from February and equaling its post-recession high that was previously reached in December 2011.  In addition, the RPI stood above 100 for the fifth consecutive month in March, which signifies expansion in the index of key industry indicators.
