For Danny Meyer, the restaurant business, hospitality and community are intertwined. Caring about staff members and the communities around his restaurants has helped grow Union Square Hospitality Group into a successful enterprise with 25 entities. "This award is a tremendous honor for me but even more so for the over 1,500 people who work in our organization and who understand that hospitality is most fully realized when it extends beyond the four walls of our restaurants," says the St. Louis native who opened his first New York restaurant in 1985.
