Registration Specialist Convention

Summary of Position:
 

The National Restaurant Association has an exciting entry-level opportunity to be on the front lines of our Convention Team as a Registration Specialist. In this role, you’ll be providing year-round registration support for setup, reporting and customer service for our premiere industry and member events including the National Restaurant Association Show, New England Food Show, Executive Study Groups and more.

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of event or meeting planning experience, strong organizational and follow-through skills, keen attention to detail, and professional, personable customer/client service-driven sensibility.

Responsibilities

  • Supports all internal team members and departments following the Association mission and values while promoting Association culture.
  •  Primary contact to assist attendees and exhibitors accessing log-in process for NRA Show, and NEFS registration, including password change and reset assistance.
  • Assist in testing of all registration sites for NRA Show and NEFS.
  • Primary contact for NRA Show member registration, NEFS and Association meeting sponsorship registration inquiries and issues.
  • VIP registrar for Winter, Spring and Fall Board meetings and select NRA Show presenters/chefs and exhibitors.
  • Create and maintain attendee registration FAQ documentation for NRA Show and NEFS.
  • Primary customer service contact to provide assistance with NRA Show and NEFS registration for Association staff members.
  • Coordinate NRA Show/NEFS/Association meetings/events badge logistics process.
  • Audit NRA Show registration sites prior to speaker, board and staff registration launch.
  • Assist with setup of NRA Show group registration site; coordinate setup of NRA Show High School and NRA Show/NEFS press registration sites.
  • Create, test and implement NRA Show and NEFS promotional codes.
  • Assist with registration for US Department of Commerce IBP delegations.
  • Assist with supervision of onsite registration areas at NRA Show.
  • Coordinate logistics of inbound and outbound registration shipments to NRA Show, NEFS, and Association meetings.
  • Coordinate registration website setup and weekly/final reporting for Association meetings/events.
  • Primary customer service contact for Association meetings/events.
  • Assist in creation of various NRA Show/NEFS collateral (i.e., transportation guide, registration & housing deadlines document, Board booklet).
  • Coordinate and distribute weekly NRA Show and NEFS exhibitor registration report
  • Coordinate NRA Show/NEFS/Association meetings registration procedures manual creation and updates.
  • On-site coordination of Association meeting registration.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • 1-2 years demonstrated professional experience preferably within event/meeting planning environment preferred.
  • Highly developed communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive as part of a team or work independently.
  • Ability to engage, navigate and build relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, priority-setting and time management skills.
  • Desire to continually improve performance and take it to the next level.
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
  • Highly adaptable, flexible.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of restaurant industry/business environment helpful.
