The National Restaurant Association has launched ServSuccess, a new, comprehensive career-development initiative that consists of online education, training, certification and assessments.

The program made its official debut May 20, at the National Restaurant Association’s 100th Restaurant Show. Its goal is to prepare the industry’s workforce for professional advancement and career opportunities. It also will help employers to recruit and retain great employees for their businesses.

The program features:

  • Professional certifications for restaurant professionals, supervisor, and managers
  • Online learning suites with content designed to fit into busy work schedules
  • Interactive study guides to promote learning and retention using the latest brain science

“ServSuccess empowers people and businesses to aim for and achieve even higher levels of career success in the foodservice industry,” said Dawn Sweeney, the Association’s president and CEO. “By validating their skills and knowledge, employees will be able to use their years of experience to jumpstart their professional advancement. For restaurant operators, it provides training and workforce solutions that grow business and service to their communities.”

In addition to education and certification offerings, ServSuccess will help employees match themselves to open positions in the industry, assess their career readiness, and chart a path toward achieving desired career goals.

“Talent and experience are a valuable resource the industry can’t afford to lose,” said Sherman Brown, the Association’s executive vice president of training and certification. “Better training is better for business. This program provides companies with a turnkey, customizable mix of products that build up the people who build their businesses. And ServSuccess is here to serve those professionals who are ready to take their hustle to the next level.”
