8 can't-miss features of the NRA Show

The NRA Show is less than two weeks away. From May 21 to 24, more than 42,000 operators from 40-plus foodservice-industry segments will converge at McCormick Place in Chicago to discover innovations in food and beverage, equipment, technology, packaging, safety, decor and more.

Here are eight features not to miss:

Trailblazer of the bar industry

Find out how Rockit Ranch Productions’ operations stay popular and profitable while setting trends. Founder Billy Dec shares his secrets at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 22 as the keynote speaker of the BAR (Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants) event at the NRA Show. Dec dishes on developing killer concepts through cocktail innovation, standout branding, chef-driven menus and a talented team.

Change agents on business challenges

Discover insight on balancing inconsistent supply, keeping up with shifting consumer lifestyles, and re-thinking the traditional restaurant model at our NRA Show Signature '16 presentation. NRA CEO Dawn Sweeney discusses business challenges, customer service and technology with change agents from Red Robin Gourmet Burgers & Brews, The Kitchen restaurant group and Uber at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22. Join the conversation on social media before, during and after at #Signature16 to tell us what you’d like to hear from our speakers, participate in live polls and get answers to tough questions.

A dose of reality

Robert Irvine and Jon Taffer tell it like it is on their reality TV shows, "Restaurant Impossible" and "Bar Rescue." And they won’t hold back at their "Reality Gets Real" session either. Find out how to identify and address common business pitfalls before they become critical in a lively exchange at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 23. Hear about reviving operations from the brink of failure, anecdotes from their experiences and reminders of why hospitality is our calling.

19 ways to get your hands dirty

Master new skills in our hands-on Foodamental Studio workshops. Culinary experts guide you through pickling, pastry and dumpling making, as well as breakfast, canapes, nose-to-tail know-how, and more. Get into the action each day of the NRA Show in one of our interactive demos.

Segment-specific education

Don’t miss our new segment-specific conferences. On Monday, May 23, our Foodservice at Retail Conference explores culinary, marketing and workforce trends and strategies for foodservice operations in retail stores. And the Non-Commercial Conference explores topics unique to foodservice operations in education, business and healthcare settings the same day. On Saturday, May 21, top CEOs discuss trends, business tactics, tech solutions and more at our Fast Casual Industry Council.

Education as entertainment

See your favorite restaurateurs and celebrity chefs in action at the World Culinary Showcase. Over the four days of the NRA Show, 15 culinary stars demonstrate skills that catapulted them to the spotlight.
