Child obesity, menu labeling on agenda at nutrition study group meeting

The National Restaurant Association will hold its next Nutrition Executive Study Group meeting in Dallas, April 23-24.

The meeting will offer nutritionists and dietitians a forum to learn about and discuss the most current research developments and resources from leading scientists and industry peers that will help them successfully meet today's nutrition challenges.

“The NRA Nutrition Executive Study Group efficiently delivers information and answers specific to issues faced daily, from nutrition-related quality assurance and communications to research and development,” said Amanda Rieter, the Association’s senior manager of state strategy and policy. “The group is your window on what fellow industry leaders are doing and which strategies work best.”

Next month’s meeting will focus on such topics as nutrition labeling, consumer behavior, research on sodium/calorie intake and the latest information on genetically modified foods. Sessions will include Challenges and Opportunities with Sodium Reduction, Nutrition Education to Hispanic Consumers, and presentations from the organizations Partnership for a Healthier America and Childhood Obesity 180.
