Menu-labeling on tap at NRA Show 2015

With menu-labeling requirements about to become a reality, NRA Show 2015 will present an education session focusing on the issue and what it means for restaurateurs.

The panel, “Menu Labeling: The Time is Now,” will feature the latest information on new menu-labeling regulations and tips on how restaurants can benefit and capitalize on the positive aspects of the law and its effect on today’s health-focused environment.

During the session, industry and nutrition experts, including Joan McGlockton, the National Restaurant Association’s vice president of industry affairs and food policy, G.J. Hart, CEO of California Pizza Kitchen, and Don Fox, CEO of Firehouse Subs, will offer their views on menu labeling.

Anita Jones-Mueller, president of San Diego-based nutrition consultant Healthy Dining, will moderate the May 18 panel at Chicago’s McCormick Place. Healthy Dining partnered with the National Restaurant Association to help develop its Kids LiveWell nutrition program, which educates parents and children about healthful kids’ meals at restaurants.

“The long-awaited menu-labeling rules will become a reality for restaurants of 20 or more locations this December, and the dining landscape for operators and consumers will change,” Jones-Mueller said. “Now is the time for restaurateurs to get ready.”

Healthy Dining’s vice president of nutrition strategy, Nicole Ring, will also be on hand to help operators understand what they need to do to comply with the law.
