NRA celebrates success of 1st Kids Recipe Challenge

The National Restaurant Association held its inaugural Kids Recipe Challenge April 27 in Baltimore. The event, which was created by the NRA and founding partner McCormick for Chefs, debuted at the new McCormick World of Flavors store at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, and featured a tasting by 30 kid judges aged 8 to 12 years old.

All of the food items were made from recipes submitted by restaurants and foodservice companies from around the country. The recipes were required to follow the nutrition guidelines set by the Association’s Kids LiveWell program, which meet criteria based on leading health organizations’ scientific recommendations, including the 2010 USDA Dietary Guidelines.
