NRA supports expanding OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program

The National Restaurant Association supports two new bills aimed at giving more small- and medium-sized businesses access to OSHA's voluntary protection program.

The 30-year-old program is designed to increase business compliance with federal workplace safety laws and reduce OSHA lawsuits. The program includes onsite worksite evaluations by a team of safety and health progressinals from OSHA, which many small companies could otherwise not afford.

The NRA thanks Sens. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) and Mary Landrieu (D-La.), and Reps. Tom Petri (R-Wis.) and Gene Green (D-Texas) for introducing S. 807, the Voluntary Protection Program Act, and its House companion, H.R. 1511. Read the NRA's letters in support of S. 807 and H.R. 1511.
