National Restaurant Association Names Walt Mullon Technology and Innovation Policy Director

Washington, D.C. — The National Restaurant Association today announced that Walter “Walt” Mullon has joined the Association as technology and innovation policy director, where he will help advance policy priorities related to emerging technologies and innovation that impact restaurant operators nationwide.

Mullon brings more than 15 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, coalition management, and advocacy. Most recently, he was senior manager of U.S. government affairs at Kyndryl, where he led federal advocacy efforts on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, privacy, digital trade, data sovereignty, and workforce policy.

In his new role, Mullon will work with restaurant industry leaders, policymakers, and coalition partners to advance the Association’s technology and innovation policy agenda, including the Credit Card Competition Act and the SECURE Data Act, and support advocacy efforts on issues affecting restaurant operators of all sizes.

Mullon holds a Master of Professional Studies in Political Management from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Manhattan College.
